Mental Health Officer Award

The Learning Networks have been involved in the development of the Mental Health Officer Award (MHOA) programmes, which replace the previous MHSWA. Details are provided below of the relevant programmes in each regional area.

North: The Postgraduate Certificate Mental Health Officer Award, delivered by the Robert Gordon University.The programme was approved by the SSSC in October 2008.

West:  The programme was approved by the SSSC in March 2009.

East (encompassing South East and Tayforth Regional Networks): The programme was approved by the SSSC in April 2009. The Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Social Work Studies (Mental Health Officer's Award) is delivered by the University of Edinburgh and the first cohort of this programme began their studies in October 2009.

MHSWA

SSSC Council Members agreed that the MHSWA will close on 31 March 2010. This means that all candidates in the existing programmes must have entirely and successfully completed all of their assessed work by this time.
