SSKS
The Social Services Knowledge Scotland (SSKS) is a web based information portal, giving access to relevant journals, research and other information services for the social services workforce in Scotland. The SSKS has been developed by IRISS and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) in partnership with the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and the Learning Networks. It contains a range of materials as well as communication tools which allow users to share practice with others.
The SSKS is a key component of the Knowledge Management Strategy, Sharing Knowledge, Improving Practice, Changing Lives: A Knowledge Management Strategy and Action Plan for Social Services in Scotland, 2009-2012. The SSKS can help support evidence informed practice through providing access to up-to-date research and by enabling users to discuss ideas and share practice through the communications facilities.
The Learning Networks and the SSKS
The Learning Networks support the development and roll-out of the SSKS: through contributing to the development of the Knowledge Management Strategy; through membership of the Managed Knowledge Network and the SSKS User Group; and through disseminating information and facilitating awareness-raising events and training on use of the SSKS.
Find out the latest news on the development of the SSKS through the SSKS blog, which is accessible from this page.
