Consultation: Benchmarking Standards in Social Work Education against the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework
Thursday 21 January 2010 – Friday 26 February 2010
Background
Your views are sought on case studies to help benchmark the Standards in Social Work Education (SiSWE) against the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has commissioned a project to produce case study materials to illustrate the differences between meeting the social work degree standards at different stages of practice learning. In many degree programmes these stages will be the first and second long placements (or practice learning opportunities) at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Levels 9 and 10, but these arrangements may vary between different universities and courses.
Find out more about the project and a glossary of terms (Word doc).
Provide your feedback
Mary Coles and Jean Gordon have developed six case studies [one for each of the Key Roles or Standards for the social work degree] and are seeking feedback on them from anyone involved in social work practice learning: practice teachers, link supervisors, students, service users, carers, tutors, agency co-ordinators, and other stakeholders.
You can provide your feedback by reading ONE of three case studies and then responding to the questions in a short survey. The survey should not take longer than 10 minutes. You are not asked to provide your name or contact details but if you would like to contact Mary or Jean to provide additional feedback (e.g. about the other two case studies) or find out more about the project their contact details are provided at the end of the survey.
Please provide your feedback by February 26th 2010.
