Over 40 people attended this one day event which was designed to introduce managers and service providers to a number of toolkits which support workforce planning. The Scottish Social Service Council's new workforce planning tool was showcased and delegates were also introduced to toolkits produced by the Voluntary Sector Social Services Workforce Unit (including EVOC's Training Needs Analysis tool) and the Scottish Institute for Residential Child Care - all products applicable to supporting workforce planning for all sectors of the social services workforce.

Questions from delegates to the speakers (click on the link for responses from the panel):

Question 1:  We talked about in the workshop was service user feedback in the workshop and Maureen gave some examples of where that’s been facilitated in the child care field.  From your experience do your tools help facilitate that and have you come across good examples where service users have been involved in supporting learning and development for staff?

Mike Docherty prevents on the development of the SSSC workforce planning tool.

Maureen Anderson presents the SIRCC toolkit to support managers with registration.

The panel respond to questions from the floor.
