Enquire is an independent, government funded organisation providing advice and support to children, families and professionals around the Additional support for Learning Act (ASL Act). The ASL Act primarily affects the education of children in school, however there are important issues, including statutory duties, for professionals working in social work, youth work and care settings. Social services from the public, private and voluntary sectors work with many of the children and young people who come under the remit of the ASL Act.
Enquire offers training and information sessions free of charge to organisations across Scotland and can help support you further with a helpline, publications and website. For more information contact Gavin Crosby on 0131 222 2422 or email gcrosby@childreninscotland.org.uk.

Learning Teaching Scotland, Curriculum for Excellence - Learning and Teaching Scotland, through a process of engagement and trialling, are seeking views from the range of partners who have an interest in promoting health and wellbeing of children and young people and would welcome your support. Feedback your views either as an individual, a group or as an organisation. For copy of outcomes and to complete online questionnaire click on link. http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/curriculumforexcellence/onlinesurveys/healthandwellbeing.asp

about us

Our vision is that the whole social service workforce in South East Scotland is sufficiently trained and supported to provide consistently excellent services to those who use them. In order to accomplish this, we will work towards establishing a sustainable learning culture which supports use of evidence based practice.

Our mission is to support the learning and development of staff working in social services in South East Scotland. We will do this by bringing people and resources together to support effective practice.

our approach

We are a ‘communications hub’ and information resource for the sharing and promotion of evidence based practice in the social services.

We act as a facilitator, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that embed a culture of learning and continuing employee development in the social services workforce.
