Our purpose is to bring people and resources together to support effective practice - we need your help to make this happen!
This Local Learning Network web page is for all Ayrshires and Dumfries & Galloway individuals and organisations involved in the social services sector and should also be of interest to service users and carers.

Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway Local Learning Network Event entitled "Leap into Learning - A Partnership Approach"
On Wednesday 4th June 2008 Ayrshires and Dumfries & Galloway Local Learning Network held an event entitled "Partnership Working, What's in it for you". The day went very well and feedback was good. We had two Keynote Speakers, the first speaker was James McKillop, Chair, Scottish Dementia Action Working Group. James talked about living with dementia, the frustrations of professional diagnosis, the impacts and implications on everyday life and the support he has been given. Click here for James's comments on Early diagnosis of Dementia. The second speaker, Brian Smith, Scottish Social Services Council discussed registration requirements. Click here for Brian's presentation. Delegates were given the opportunity to question the speakers, this proved to be a popular session.
In place of the traditional evaluation forms delegates were encouraged to put their comments on graffiti walls around the room. Click here for comments of the day.
Click here for the Symposium of the day.
As you know we did audio record the Keynote speakers, it is our intention to publish these podcasts ASAP.
